THE TRI-TOWN COUNCIL

The mission of the Tri-Town Council is to reduce at-risk behavior and improve the emotional health and safety of Tri-Town youth by delivering specialized prevention and intervention services that meet or exceed the needs of our community.
Today, the Tri-Town Council's mission remains closely tied to the needs of students and families. Its services, broadly categorized as prevention and intervention have expanded to include social concerns such as domestic violence, teen dating violence, prejudice, health, wellness, parenting, after-school programming and an employee assistance program.

ABC HOUSE

Since the founding of A Better Chance in 1963, the mission has rested on a single goal: to substantially increase the number of well-educated minority youth capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society. A Better Chance works with students of color in sixth grade through college to help them gain access to broader educational and career opportunities.

Refugee Immigration Ministries

To serve the needs of asylum seekers and those detained by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service through social services, spiritual care, and advocacy.

Regional Ministries

NEW TEEN CHALLENGE

Offers a Christian, holistic, rehabilitation program for young adults with life controlling problems such as drugs, crime and alcohol.

Offers a home and a Christian, holistic program for women with alcohol and drug related problems through education, career skills training, parenting and a home for their children.

Andover - Newton is a college that trains young men and women who consider ministry as their life's vocation.

GORDON-CONWELL

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is an educational institution serving the Lord and His Church. Its mission is to prepare men and women for ministry at home and abroad. The Seminary undertakes this task as a training partner with the Church so that what is learned on campus may be complemented by the spiritual nurture and the exercise of ministry available through the Church.

HAVEN FROM HUNGER

Haven from Hunger is a non-profit agency who serves those who are in need in the North Shore area. It provides a food pantry as well as hot and nutritious food four nights a week.

SALEM MISSION

To help individuals meet basic human needs; to serve all homeless and hungry people, who come to our door by offering food, shelter, compassion, educational, residential and employment services as well as other supportive services and referrals to outside systems to assist their renewal to a full and independent life.

EMMAUS HOUSE - HAVERHILL

Emmaus Inc. is a nonprofit corporation founded in 1985 to provide housing and services to homeless adults and families in Haverhill, MA. Over the past 14 years the agency has grown to become a significant service provider and developer of affordable housing, offering one of the most innovative and comprehensive approaches to homelessness in the country.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - GREATER LAWRENCE

The Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, the largest, nonprofit homebuilder in the world.
They build affordable homes with people who need a simple, decent place to live and can afford to purchase their home with a zero interest mortgage.

City Mission Society

The City Mission Society is an urban social justice agency serving over 3,000 people each year. It is the second oldest multi-service agency in the country, addressing the educational, economic and social needs of impoverished area residents since 1816.
CMS unites communities and transforms individuals through service, education and advocacy. Our programs help youth and adults reach their full potential while providing opportunities for congregations and communities to engage in social action and change. This work is supported by the Metropolitan Boston Association of the United Church of Christ, churches, individuals and foundations.

The Christian Appalachian Project is an interdenominational, non-profit Christian organization committed to serving people in need in Appalachia by providing physical, spiritual and emotional support through a wide variety of programs and services.

World Ministries


UCC - UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

The MACUCC is one of 39 Regional bodies of the United Church of Christ. The Massachusetts Conference provides counsel, programs, and resources to assist the churches in the association. The conference exists to foster: mutual assistance among churches; discussion of common concerns; the development of new or renewed congregations; & the support of joint mission efforts in the state and beyond.

SARA BEST

Sara Best is originally from Topsfield. She has been our missionary in South Africa for the past 18 years working at the African School of Missions (ASM). Sara has been the director, teacher, mentor, small group leader, and curriculum developer. ASM is currently seeking independent accreditation and Sara is currently involved in rewriting the curriculum to meet those standards. Sara was also once a pastor at the Hillsboro Church in South Africa until they closed a couple years ago. The donation we give Sara from the Congregational Church of Topsfield is very important as she does not receive many funds elsewhere. This line item is one of the few "World" charities we support.


US FOUNDATION FOR THE CHILDREN OF HAITI

The United States Foundation for the Children of Haiti (USFCH) is organized to provide financial, medical, and religious support and assistance to the needy children of Haiti through its dedication to Foundation Pour Les Enfants d'Haiti (FEH). FEH is a Haitian organization, without ties to the Haitian government, which works to save the lives of children in Haiti. Both the United States and Haitian governments recognize FEH as an official non-government organization (NGO).

PARTNERS WITH HAITI - BETHANY PROJECT

The purpose of Partners With Haiti is to exalt Jesus Christ by assisting the National Evangelical Church in Haiti and elsewhere, in preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God and providing social assistance in education, feeding, housing, and job creation.

BRIGHT STARS OF BETHLEHEM

A Lutheran-based, ecumenically-oriented institution. It was founded in 2003 to support the ministry of Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem through fundraising, awareness-building, and education.
As extensions of its ministry, Christmas Lutheran Church established the International Center of Bethlehem (ICB), Dar-Al Kalima K-12 Model School, Dar-Al Kalima Health & Wellness Center, and The Center for Adult and Continuing Education to facilitate intercultural exchange, promote the building of a civil society in Palestine and equip the local community to assume a proactive role in shaping its future.

GAiN - RUSSIA / IRAQ

Global Aid Network, the humanitarian aid arm of Campus Crusade for Christ, International, partners with businesses and churches to provide hope and humanitarian aid - including food, clothing, school supplies, and necessity items - to hospitals, orphanages, and schools in needy communities around the world.

Operation Carelift (former name of organization) was added to the budget in 2004.
